West Kowloon Cultural District Authority Invites Tender for Artist Square Towers Project

The Authority is inviting a collaboration with industry experts for the development and operation of the Artist Square Towers (AST) Project via open tender. The AST Project, comprising three commercial buildings with a total gross floor area (GFA) of approximately 65,000 sqm (including 62,435 sqm for office use and 2,500 sqm for retail/dining/entertainment (RDE) uses), is located at the Artist Square, the heart of the District. Tender submission closes on 11 February 2022.

Design Competition for Transformation of Sensory Garden at Kwun Tong Promenade

The Energising Kowloon East Office of the Development Bureau and the Hong Kong Institute of Architects are launching a single-stage design competition for the transformation of Sensory Garden at Kwun Tong Promenade. The Competition opens to Professional Group and Student Group to collect innovative design and concepts. Registration closes on 24 January and submission deadline is 21 February 2022.

HKBU Opens Virtual Door to 'Future World'
 
Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) will introduce the city's first bachelor's degree for gaming design and animation from September to embrace the growing trend of online games and virtual environments. HKBU is expecting an enthusiastic response for the 20-seat programme, which will replace its popular animation and media arts concentration.

fDi Magazine Strategy Awards 2021- InvestHK

InvestHK has won an award for a specialism in Research & Development, and a commendation for the Talent Attraction Initiative, as part of the fDi Strategy Awards organised by the fDi Magazine:

Research and development - Hong Kong demonstrated a wide-ranging plan to encourage research and development investments in the city, with the implementation of various clusters, research funds, incubators and incentives in the form of super tax breaks. InvestHK is well-connected globally, as it looks to benefit as a knowledge-sharing hub between the East and West.

Talent attraction initiative - In January 2020, the Hong Kong government launched its Technology Talent Admission Scheme, helping tech companies to attract skilled employees for targeted technology areas. This is backed by the $500m pledged to train and pool talent as well as investing HK$3bn into research that will make Hong Kong an enticing area for employees and investors.
