Harbour Chill Carnival (8 July - 6 August 2023 (Saturday and Sunday only))

Harbour Chill Carnival, a large-scale land and sea carnival, is coming to Victoria Harbour this summer! For five weekends from 8 July 2023, the Wan Chai harbourfront area will play host to the summery carnival, featuring live music shows on a water stage, a variety of performing arts programmes from different countries, thrilling X-game performances, and a special edition of ‘A Symphony of Lights’ light and music show.

TeamLab Future Park
(9 July 2023 - 14 January 2024)

Hong Kong is set to welcome the famous teamLab Future Park this July. A multi-sensory paradise, the interactive space will take place at Megabox in Kowloon Bay, covering 10,000 square feet will feature six curated installations from around the world. The exhibition will run from 9 July 2023 to 14 January 2024.

S2O Hong Kong Songkran Music Festival 2023
(5 - 6 August 2023)

Coming to Hong Kong’s Central Harbourfront for the first time, S2O Songkran Music Festival debuted in 2015 in Bangkok, and since then the festival exploded from Bangkok to become a one-of-a-kind annual experience attracting thousands of fans from all over the world. Attendees will be immersed in a world of music, water and lights, and enjoy high-energy performances by world-renowned DJs and artists with stunning visual effects and 360 degrees of water splashing experience.

International Arts Carnival to offer fun-filled summer party (14 July - 13 August 2023)

The International Arts Carnival (IAC) festival is returning this summer with interesting and creative programmes by overseas and local art groups, with a variety of programmes covering dance, music, acrobatics, multimedia theatre and more. The opening programme will be the world premiere performance of "Sam and Her Amazing Book of Dinosaurs", a ballet theatre piece with arts tech, co-produced by the Hong Kong Ballet and 59 Productions, a top-notch British design company.

Hong Kong’s first beach carnival to take place this summer (29 - 30 July 2023)

The NextWave, dubbed as Hong Kong’s first beach carnival, is expected to provide Hongkongers with music, food, drink, and fun. From 29 to 30 July 2023 at Discovery Bay, with a capacity of over 20,000+ ticket holders, this largest ever beach party both in size and number of attendees will see non-stop musical performances by over 20+ musical acts including cantopop, rock bands, EDM and hip hop artists from Hong Kong, Taiwan and more.

Implementation of new licensing regime for virtual asset trading platforms

The new licensing regime for centralised virtual asset trading platforms (VATPs) under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (Cap 615) (AMLO) came into effect on 1 June 2023. Under the new regime, all VATPs carrying on a business of operating a virtual asset exchange in Hong Kong or actively marketing their services to Hong Kong investors will need to be licensed by the Securities and Futures Commission.

Government announced expanded Talent List to attract more high-quality talent

The newly expanded Talent List, which increases the coverage from 13 professions to 51, is geared towards attracting more high-quality talent to come and meet Hong Kong's development needs. The updated list comprises 51 professions under nine industry segments, including creative industries, arts and culture, performing arts, development and construction, innovation and technology etc.

The Mega Arts and Cultural Events (ACE) Fund is open for applications

The Mega ACE Fund aims to attract and support international and large-scale arts and cultural events to be held in Hong Kong. It targets mega arts and cultural events organised by the private sector or non-governmental organisations in Hong Kong. Applications for 8th First Feature Film Initiative

The 8th First Feature Film Initiative (FFFI) opened for applications from 29 May to 28 September 2023. Production teams wishing to join the film industry are encouraged to participate. The competition is divided into the Higher Education Institution Group (HEIG) and the Professional Group (PG), with each group being awarded a maximum of three prizes. The maximum sponsorship for each winning production team of the HEIG and the PG are $5 million and $8 million respectively.
