To enhance the global network of arts institutions and practitioners, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council is hosting the inaugural HKPAX which will feature a diverse array of expo programmes, international showcases, pitch sessions, talks, exhibitions, and networking activities, fostering exchange among arts professionals from China, including Hong Kong and around the world.
The third edition of TheTicketingBusiness reaching across the APAC region brings together the fragmented eCommerce ecosystem to connect Asia’s fans with entertainment. The invite-only meeting co-hosted alongside the TheStadiumBusiness ASIA meeting at Kai Tak Sports Park will bring in the region's entertainment, sports & leisure venue leaders.

Business of Design Week (BODW) 2024

Asia’s premier annual event on design, innovation and brands is back! Under the theme ‘Inter/Section’, BODW 2024 Summit partners with France where design-driven innovation takes centre stage as creative leaders, entrepreneurs and policymakers across diverse industries gather to share insights on how design is transforming products, processes and strategies in a constantly evolving business landscape.
In the first seven months of 2024, InvestHK assisted 25 cultural and creative industry companies to set up or expand business in Hong Kong, attracting foreign direct investment of over HK$500 million and created 300 jobs. Both figures exceeded the total of 2023. These companies originated from various countries including the USA, China, Singapore, France, Japan and the United Kingdom. They encompass businesses in Art and Culture, Advertising and Marketing, Multimedia, Design, Gaming, Entertainment, Film & Video Production. Currently InvestHK is assisting nearly 100 cultural and creative businesses that are actively looking at establishing or expanding their operation in Hong Kong.

HKIA has been crowned Asia’s Leading Airport for 2024 at the 31st World Travel Awards. This marks the second year in a row that HKIA has taken home this prestigious title, adding to its growing collection from 2020 and 2021. The award comes on the heels of a significant rebound in travel, with HKIA reporting a post-pandemic peak in passenger traffic this past July.
The National Immigration Administration announced that non-Chinese permanent residents of Hong Kong and Macao are able to apply for Mainland travel permits starting 10 July 2024 to facilitate cross-border personnel exchanges. The permit allows the holder to travel to the mainland multiple times within a five-year validity period, with each stay not exceeding 90 days.
The DSD is doing its best to give residents and visitors more reason to look down. In a true celebration of community spirit, the DSD invites residents to contribute to urban art by holding a manhole cover design competition marking its 35th anniversary. Winning entries may be transformed into actual manhole covers, giving citizens the chance to leave their mark on the cityscape. Its series of more than 200 limited edition manhole covers at 11 selected locations, each bearing a coloured design representing a scenic Hong Kong landmark.
