The Fashion Tech Summit, organised by Li & Fung Limited on August 15, explored ways to build a stronger multinational supply chain. Speakers acknowledged commitment to long term partnerships with manufacturers while allowing reasonable margin to be reinvested to upgrade the supply chain; on the other hand it is highlighted too manufacturers should work to keep a clean data set for easy adaption into different ESG reporting needs.

Asia-Pacific is the fastest-growing market for sportswear. It is estimated to exhibit a CAGR of 8.39 percent over the forecast period of eight years surpassing the expected growth rate of the rest of the world.
As Asia’s main shopping hub, the total sales revenue of the Hong Kong sportswear market in 2023 was US$2.7 billion (HK$21.1 billion), and is expected to increase by 62 percent, reaching US$4.4 billion (HK$34.4 billion) by 2028. Looking into the future, openings such as Kai Tak Sports Park and Go Park will give extra boost to local enthusiasm for sports.
Brands are already advancing their investment to capture the opportunity. Swiss sports brand On has taken over a 3,000-square-foot retail space in Central, similarly French sports brands Salomon and HOKA both opened their first concept retail stores.
